Jordi Parramon (Santa Coloma de Gramenet 1959)
He studied music at 'Centre d'Estudis Musicals' of Barcelona and at the Barcelona and Badalona conservatories. He studied vocal technique with Carme Tulon, harmony with Benet Casablancas and Juan Luis Milán, and piano with David Padrós. He also studied choir's conduction with Manuel Cabero, and orchestral conduction with Juan José Olives.
He collaborated with some publications basically talking about contemporary music (GRAMA, MONTSALVAT, EL MÓN, GRAN ENCICLOPÈDIA CATALANA DE LA MÚSICA). As a choir's conductor he worked with choral groups of different music schools (Municipal Music School of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, 'Escola Luthier' of Barcelona) and also the choirs 'l'Espirall' of Santa Coloma and 'Dido i Aeneas' of Mataró. He created and conducted the instrumental group (GIGA). This group performed fort the first time works of V. Solé, F. Taverna-Bech and J. Soler.
At present he works teaching theoretical subjects (History, Harmony, Formal Analysis). He is also teacher at Senior University of CDL (Col·legi dels docents i dels professionals de la cultura) and the Secondary school Summer School since 1994.
Basically he has composed for guitar, piano, chamber music and choral music.
